The survey, released by Colonial Life & Accident Insurance Company, found that employers are expecting other changes to their employee benefits packages over the next year. Fifty-one percent of employers expect to increase workers’ health insurance premiums and 49 percent expect to increase workers’ health insurance deductibles and/ or co-pays.

The survey also found that all employers (99.6 percent) surveyed agree their employees need guidance and education to help them understand changes in their benefits program. However, only a quarter of employers (23 percent) believe their company's current benefits education efforts are very effective.

Colonial Life surveyed more than 750 human resource managers and benefits administrators at the annual conference of the Society for Human Resource Management in Las Vegas in July.
