40% of Employers Giving Holiday Bonuses, According to Survey

Forty percent of employers plan to give their employees holiday bonuses this year, up from 33 percent in 2010, according to a recent CareerBuilder survey.

How big of a bonus? Most employers who are awarding holiday bonuses are planning to give the same amount as last year (73 percent). Fourteen percent plan to provide a greater bonus than last year, while 13 percent plan to provide a smaller bonus.

Results also show that 30 percent employers plan to give holiday gifts to employees, up from 29 percent in 2010.

The CareerBuilder survey was conducted between August 16 and September 8, 2011 and included more than 4,000 workers and more than 2,600 employers.
