High-Tech Wages Rebound

Highly skilled technology professionals saw higher hourly wages in the third quarter of 2005 compared with the same period in 2004, according to the latest Yoh Index of Technology Wages.

Yoh, a recruiting-services firm, says wages rose 2.7 percent in July, increased 1.1 percent in August, and decreased .4 percent in September, as compared to the same months in 2004.

The firm says the high-impact technology job titles in greatest demand nationwide during the third quarter of 2005 were:

  • Applications Development--$51.15 (hourly pay rate)
  • C#.Net--$50.07
  • C/C++--$46.41
  • Cisco Engineer--$48.99
  • Clinical Data Manager--$43.79
  • Clinical Research Associate--$37.79
  • Database Architect--$60.53
  • Embedded Developer--$57.67
  • Java Developer--$53.38
  • Oracle DBA--$54.73
  • Process Engineer--$36.75
  • SQL DBA--$45.56
