About two-thirds of over 300 HR professionals report that their career has been fulfilling, in a recent Compensation.BLR.com poll.
When asked "Has your HR career been fulfilling?," 66 percent responded "Yes," while 34 percent responded "No."
In a recent poll by Monster, more than 8 in 10 U.S. workers said they would pursue their dream job even if it meant taking a reduction in pay. A quote from Norma Gaffin, Monster's director of career content, in a press release announcing Monster's poll results prompted BLR editors to ask its audience of HR professionals whether they'd found the HR profession to be fulfilling: "We see a general consensus among workers around the globe that people are open to pursuing more fulfilling careers, not just a fuller wallet. "
Whether HR professionals feel that they are well-paid is a question for another Compensation.BLR.com poll. And our poll results don't indicate whether HR professionals consider themselves to be in their "dream job." But these results at least indicate that majority of those in the HR profession derive satisfaction and/or happiness from their work.
The Compensation.BLR.com poll included 303 respondents.
