On May 18, the U.S Department of Labor (DOL) released long-awaited changes to the overtime regulations—the first major changes to the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) since 2004. The regulations take effect on December 1, 2016, but that may be little consolation to the many employers faced with tough decisions regarding their workforce in the wake of these far-impacting changes.
