In both Florida and Oregon, state officials are required to adjust the minimum wage annually for inflation.
Under the annual adjustment in Florida, the minimum wage will increase from $6.40 to $6.67 on January 1, 2007. During 2007, tipped employees in Florida must be paid a minimum of $3.65 per hour.
Under the annual adjustment in Oregon, the minimum wage will increase from $7.50 per hour to $7.80 per hour on January 1, 2007. Oregon does not permit employers to credit tips earned by the employee toward the minimum wage.
