About a third of employers will offer Presidents' Day as a paid holiday to exempt and nonexempt (office) employees this year, according to BLR's 2007 Survey of Employee Benefits.

The survey found that 33 percent of employers said exempt employees will receive Presidents' Day, a federal holiday officially known as Washington's Birthday, as a paid holiday. Thirty-two percent of employers said the same about nonexempt office employees. Twenty-one percent of employers said nonexempt plant employees will have it as a paid holiday.
Employees in the far west are most likely to receive Presidents' Day as a paid holiday. In the far west, more than half of employers said exempt employees will receive Presidents' Day as a paid holiday. Fifty-three percent said the same about nonexempt office employees.
