BLR has released a new survey on healthcare insurance trends. The survey, BLR’s 2013 Health Insurance Survey, gathered information on organizations’ plan options, dependent coverage, cost sharing, and more.

Among other findings, the survey results show that a majority of companies’ health insurance packages in 2013 are about the same as the previous year.
The survey also looked at the impact of the Affordable Care Act (ACA), also known as healthcare reform, on businesses.
Nearly 30 percent of respondents reported that healthcare reform has caused their insurance costs to increase in 2013. In addition, 25 percent have considered dropping their healthcare benefits due to the ACA.
In terms of priorities for healthcare benefits in 2013, healthcare reform is second on the list (30 percent). The main priority for this year is cost containment (35 percent).
