The Court will hear arguments concerning the following healthcare reform issues:
- Is the “individual mandate” provision constitutional? The provision requires most individuals to maintain adequate health insurance coverage by 2014 or to pay a fine.
- Will some or all of the PPACA have to fail if the individual mandate provision is struck down?
- Does the Anti-Injunction Act bar some or all of the challenges to the individual mandate provision?
- Is the expansion of the Medicaid program for the poor and disabled constitutional?
Oral arguments are expected to be heard in March 2012.
