ture capitalist Ann Winblad, co-founder of Hummer Winblad Venture Partners, had a recent interview in Business Week in which she gave advice and guidance to women trying to advance their careers.

Her advice acknowledged that women have a hard time reconciling all the various challenges in their lives. Nevertheless, if they persist and capitalize on their strengths, high technology represents tremendous opportunity in an environment that rewards hard work.

Ms. Winblad has helped place total capital investment of $350 million in over 70 start-ups. She is a frequent speaker and on the boards of seven different companies.
