ExecuNet's 16th annual Executive Job Market Intelligence Report found that 14.8 percent of employers said business development is the executive job function that will create the most growth in executive hiring in 2008, compared with 12.9 percent of respondents who said the sales and operations management job functions would do so.
After those three executive job functions, the respondents said the following would be in the most demand in 2008:
- General Management (10.3 percent)
- Finance (9.1 percent)
- Engineering (9.1 percent)
- Marketing (8.7 percent)
- MIS/Information Technology (6.2 percent)
- Consulting (6.1 percent)
- Research and Development (5.7 percent)
- Human Resources (3.5 percent)
