Get Your Report Now! INS announced that they will no longer be accepting H-1B visa petitions for FY 2000 employment. The Agency announced that it now has a sufficient amount of pending and approved petitions to reach the limit for FY 2000 of 115,000 approvals. Last year the INS was embarrassed because it inadvertently issued more visas than it was supposed to, and attention has been focussed on it not to repeat its error.
Meanwhile, H-1B and other types of special visas are a very hot issue in the full-employment economy. Teachers, high tech companies and many other organizations are looking for ways to get additional visas as a way to secure scarce talent.
