ry-level workers seem to be having no trouble finding employment in todays economy, but the same cannot be said for middle managers. In what seems the only bad news on the unemployment front, there are an alarming number of mid-level managers who are losing their jobs. With all the downsizing, streamlining, and flattening going on in corporate America there doesnt seem to be enough room for middle management. The bad news for newly let go middle managers is that it is taking them longer to find work. Outplacement firm Challenger, Gray and Christmas report that it now takes a displaced $70,000 a year manager 3.39 months to find a comparable job. Last year they would have to only expect 2.56 months to land that new job.
