Poll: Job Market Doesn't Favor HR Pros
The majority of HR professionals believe that the current supply of and demand for those in their profession does not work in their favor, according to a recent Compensation.BLR.com poll.

When asked "Do you believe HR professionals are in high demand?," over two-thirds (69 percent) responded "No, there are more candidates than jobs" while 31 percent responded "Yes, there are more jobs than candidates".

A recent report by Jobfox.com (a website that connects candidates with employers) listed the 25 professions in the highest demand. Although no Human Resources job made the list, "Human Resource Department Management" was listed among the "Other Notable Professions" that didn't crack the top 25.

There were likewise no positions specific to employee compensation on the top 25 list. One profession that did make the list was Training--ranked #21 among those in highest demand--which is noteworthy since many HR professionals are tasked with internal training responsibilities, and therefore possess the skills of many in the profession. (Career change, anyone?)

The Compensation.BLR.com poll included 282 respondents.
