Who knew that HR professionals were such a daring bunch? The majority of you report that you either have either moved to another state in hopes of landing a good-paying job or would consider doing so, according to a recent Compensation.BLR.com poll.
When asked "Have you ever relocated to another state in hopes of landing a good-paying job?," 36 percent responded "No, that would be pretty foolish." However, 33 percent showed interest in the idea, responding "No, but I would consider it." Add to that 24 percent who responded "Yes, and it worked out great" and 7 percent who responded "Yes, but it was pretty foolish" and the overall picture portrays a group that's not afraid to take some degree of risk in order to get what they want. And, apparently, among those HR professionals who took such a risk, it paid off for most of them.
The idea for the poll stemmed from a recent report from Forbes.com, which identified the top 10 U.S. counties where individuals are most likely to "get ahead" and receive higher pay. Counties in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area (Maryland and Virginia) dominated the list of counties with the fastest rising median income since 2000. See our article on the report here.
The Compensation.BLR.com poll included 202 respondents.
