Established by a June 2012 amendment to state law, the amnesty program allows employers to satisfy their debts at reduced rates.

In most cases, employers may pay overdue contributions and lien costs plus half of the interest and penalties due, and the DOLI will waive the remaining half of the penalties and interest. Other qualifying obligations include unpaid reimbursements, interest on late payments, and unpaid penalties.
